Sony and Disney closer to Spider-man deal!
Our insider is hearing from sources inside Sony and Disney that both sides might reach a new agreement in a week’s time, more or less.
Contract talks are continuing.
We want to caution that there is still the possibility that this could fall apart again. It’s business, and it’s fragile. However, for now, Sony and Disney are more than just dancing; they are locked in a groove like Uma Thurman and John Travolta. But don’t order that 9.8 CGC of the Hypno-Hustler’s first appearance yet!
Tom Holland was given strict orders at a recent convention not to talk about the Sony-Disney dispute because he might spoil critical information.
To clarify, a deal HASN’T been reached yet. However, they are getting close. Still, do not pop the champagne right now. They’re going back and forth. It looks positive but The Phantom Menace looked brilliant in trailers.
Stay tuned. This just might close in a few days. Neither party wants a divorce for the sake of the boy.
Sony was reserving Norman Osborn for Feige. Sony really wants Dark Avengers but Feige doesn't do Villain led movies. Feige would only do Dark Avengers on two conditions
Strict, guaranteed contract from sony
Heroes point of View, not Villains and Osborn not the big Baddie
After D23 both Holland and Feige had very “PR” friendly comments.
“Basically, we’ve made five great movies,” Holland told EW during interview after D23. “It’s been five amazing years. I’ve had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. It’s going to be so fun, however we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we’ll find new ways to make it even cooler.”
Feige had similar feelings “I’m feeling about Spider-Man gratitude and joy… We got to make five films within the MCU with Spider-Man: two standalone films and three with the Avengers. It was a dream that I never thought would happen. It was never meant to last forever. We knew there was a finite amount of time that we’d be able to do this, and we told the story we wanted to tell, and I’ll always be thankful for that.”
We'll keep our Peter Tingle on high alert as there is far too much to lose for both sides for a deal not to happen!
Until next time, Keep Diggin in those Long Boxes!
