Salutations, dear comic book lovers! We’re overjoyed at having you take time from your life to come hang out with us for a bit! We’ve mentioned before how we feel comic book collecting and speculation can (and should) be a communal activity, so having you with us only adds to the family dynamic of our awesome hobby! This week, as is the case with every week, we have another Bags and Boards Show With ComicTom101 for you! Don’t you forget to also check the ComicTom101 YouTube Channel for additional comic book speculation joy!
Per usual, let’s start things off with a brief recap from the previous video, highlighting a couple subjects. In this instance, did you hear that the recent comic Marvel Zombies Resurrection featured the death of Galactus? Oftentimes known as the Devourer of Worlds, all of Galactus’s might wasn’t enough to save him from a zombie plague! In even more sensational news, it would seem that we’re getting a Green Lantern TV show, courtesy of HBO MAX. It hasn’t been revealed whether the show will revolve around old storylines or if the character(s) will be taken in bold, new directions.
With this latest week, let’s keep the Green Lantern train moving. You might not know this, but Green Lantern #48 is starting to pick up a little momentum. Why? Well, it’s the first appearance of Kyle Rayner, the 3rd Earth Green Lantern. Folks are speculating on the book if only because Kyle Rayner served, and continues to serve, as a good entry point into the Green Lantern mythos. It’s totally up in the air about which character will help guide the audience in the HBO Max show.
Next up, we’re taking some time for a little comic book appreciation. If you haven’t heard, we’re a fan of Marvel writer Donny Cates. In a relatively short time, the man has changed the Marvel Universe as we know it in many new and explosive ways. One of his latest works, Silver Surfer Black could very well be one of the finest pieces of literature from Mr. Cates. A cerebral story if ever there was one, Silver Surfer Black might be our comic of the year. It’s a comic book for people who not only love comics, but who admire a captivating story. If you want to know more, then either go out and get the comic or listen to us talk about it in great length!
And that concludes our Bags and Boards Show With ComicTom101! Granted, there was plenty more discussed, but if you want more, you’ll have to check out the ComicTom101 YouTube page and/or listen the podcast itself over on iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, and Stitcher! Don’t forget to come back every Sunday for a brand new episode!
As always, geek responsibly! ‘Nuff said!
