Comic Pressing Mistakes And Todd McFarlane

Hello, Comic Fam! It’s been a hot minute, but have no fear, because we’re back in full force! We’re already a month into 2020 and the year has been a non-stop roller coaster, especially in the realm of comic book speculation! Have you been hunting down all those keys issues you set out to collect? We hope so, but until then, welcome to our latest Bags and Boards Show With ComicTom 101 episode! As always, we’d like to take a second to remind you to head over to the ComicTom101 YouTube Channel for even more stellar comic book speculation content!

Since we haven’t seen your friendly faces for a time, let’s go over what we talked about last time! Granted, it’s difficult to summarize an entire podcast into a few sentences, hence why we typically only dive into a couple highlights. One such topic was, as always, the infamous Donny Cates! Quickly and with a devil-may-care attitude, Cates has carved out his name in the Marvel Comics universe. Ever since he introduced the villain Knull, all his work garners the attention of speculators, as they’re hoping he delivers another big character to profit on! That said, there’s plenty of Donny Cates speculation out there, and you’ll want to check out our last podcast in order to get all the details!

As for this latest podcast, how do you guys feel about pressing your comic books? If you don’t know what we’re talking about, then give us a listen. If you do know, do you have a certain method that you like to use? Who do you trust to iron out the literal kinks and crinkles of your beloved comics? We go into some (expensive) comic pressing mistakes; you’ll want to avoid these if at all possible!

In keeping the conversation moving along, you might’ve heard (or maybe not) that the ever-amazing comic book creator Todd McFarlane has been partaking in some rather non-traditional CGC signings. By that we mean the man has turned the typical rigmarole of signing hundreds of books into an affair that involves the comic community! Really, the guy is going out of his way to call the owners of the books he signs, plus a whole bunch more! We need more creators like McFarlane who are willing to go out of their way to give that little something extra to the comic book collecting experience.

And that wraps up our latest Bags and Boards Show With ComicTom101 ! Trust us, there was plenty more discussed this time, and if you’re intrigued, check out the ComicTom101 YouTube page and/or listen to the podcast over on iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, and Stitcher! Don’t forget to come back every Sunday for a brand-new episode!

As always, geek responsibly! ‘Nuff said!
